Privacy policy
Serenum is committed to protecting your privacy. That is why the website is designed to operate without collecting, tracking or storing personal data.

- The website uses JavaScript very sparingly and will still work even if JavaScript is disabled.
- Serenum does not use cookies.
- Serenum does not use any analytics or tracking technology.
As Serenum does not process or store any personal data, we are unable to comply with requests to delete personal data. There is simply nothing to delete.
Our philosophy
We believe that a weather service does not need to act as a data collector. That is why Serenum is built on the fundamental principle of data minimisation.
No personal data is stored, and all API calls are made via our server. This means that external services never communicate directly with the visitor.
Instead of cookies, Serenum uses the address bar to store settings and location information. This includes, for example, coordinates, unit selections and other choices made by the visitor.
How weather data is stored
When a location is searched for — either manually or via GPS — Serenum retrieves weather data for that location’s coordinates. To reduce the number of API calls, the weather data is temporarily stored as JSON files on the server.
File names are based on the location’s coordinates and do not contain names, account details or any other identifying information. The files are automatically deleted 3 hours after last use.
All data is stored locally on the server and is not shared with third parties.
Third-party services
Serenum uses external data sources to provide information such as weather and pollen data. These services have their own privacy policies and data processing procedures, which are beyond our control.
All API calls are made via Serenums server. This means that third-party services only see the server’s IP address — never the visitor’s.
Open-Meteo
Open-Meteo provides weather and pollen data for the whole world. When making an API call, they will only see the server’s IP address – not the visitor’s.
NRM
The NRM (Swedish Museum of Natural History) provides pollen data for Sweden. When making an API call, they will only see the server’s IP address – not the visitor’s.
